Dr. Maxwell Gilliam
Dr. Gilliam is a fun-loving, articulate, and gentle spirit. He enjoys photography, boating, and swimming. Additionally, Dr. Gilliam is an avid gardener . He is extremely knowledgeable in political science , religion, and history. Dr. Gilliam, a dental professional for over 26 years, is known widely within the community, and has also established business and personal relationships throughout the United States. In addition to providing excellent dental care to his valued patients, Dr. Gilliam enjoys and promotes establishing close, personable relationships with his patients. He is a dentist who truly cares about the entire well-being of his patient, not just his specialty, dentistry.
Dr. Maxwell Gilliam grew up in Windsor, North Carolina. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia until he completed his undergraduate studies in 1982. He subsequently attended postgraduate studies at Howard University, Washington, D.C., and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1987. Upon graduation, Dr. Gilliam participated in mobile dental teams treating elderly individuals with limited access to dental facilities in Eastern and Central North Carolina. He then moved to back to Baltimore, MD where he practiced within the John Hopkins dental system providing care for the underserved. In 1992, he relocated to North Carolina where he began his private dental practice in Jacksonville.
Dr. Gilliam stays abreast of all the latest and progressive dental practices and new technologies. He continually participates in specialized training so that he can provide his patients the very best in oral healthcare services. He is extremely grateful to provide Cerec/Cadcam services to his patients. These services allow for same day ceramic restorations that are more durable than conventional composite restorations. In addition to same day services, Dr. Gilliam also provides TMJ, endodontic, and periodontal therapy.
